JR De La Fuente was born in Brownsville, Tx. He is the son of Merced Rodriguez, a brilliant contractor and Imelda De la Fuente, a housewife. His birth name was Jose Alfredo Rodriguez De La Fuente. The De La Fuente name originated from Spain and Germany meaning "from the fountain" in English. JR started acting during Jr. high school when he played the part of Julius Ceaser. Over 500 elementary kids went wild due to his comedic performance during the play. JR was also in choir until his senior year which is why he had alot of vocal training. JR studied broadcasting in college where he recorded commercials and created characters voices. After college, he went to work for advertising agencies and radio and he became the original voice talent for Central KIA the auto dealer and other dealers across the country. His agent was Ivett Stone of the Ivett Stone Agency. While with Ivett Stone, JR booked many national commercials such as Lowes Home Improvement and Rent A Center. He was the "barbeque grill guy" that was popular during 2003. He was a detective in a soap for Telemundo called "La Ley Del Silencio". He has appeared in major TV shows such as Chase on NBC, Lonestar alongside Jon Voight. JR jokingly called him dad as he walked by. Jon smiled and pointed at him but didn't say why he smiled. He also worked sporadically on "Prisonbreak" on FOX. JR is bilingual and records commercials for television and radio. Hide
