An early dream of acting drew Lawrence to the theater department of college and ultimately to a leading role in the musical play Marat/Sade with a curtain-call draft notice and then a muggy, Southeast Asian climate. The rip currents of life interceded and a half-century later he found himself in Los Angeles with the need to make good on a dream.Lawrence published his first novel, Glue Pit, in 2010 and his screenplay based on that novel placed in the 2016 quarter finals of Scriptapalooza. The protagonist becomes tangled within the dark secrets of a town after the well-preserved, victimized remains of the town's misogyny and racial hatred are discovered. While making the rounds in Hollywood, Lawrence searches for the quirky actors, older women and Native Americans to bring his story of bullies and personal discovery to life.Rounding out his hyphenated endeavors, Lawrence spends time as an artist and has been honored with inclusion in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Emerging Artist program and inclusion in two of their shows. Whether he is acting, writing or painting, Lawrence means to prove that despite the permit requirement that is necessary to have seventy candles on his next birthday cake, life can still provide adventure and fulfillment of dreams.
