Ruby Harrison-Barnes was born and raised in a small Texas town (Odessa). At a young age she discovered that she loved movies and enjoyed entertaining others.She ignoring her true passion of entertaining in her early years and coasting in life, she became a wife and mother and dedicated her life to her family all the while feeling as if she was lost and belonged somewhere else. She went to college while raising her children and obtained a BSW in Social Work with a minor in Gerontology. She receive associates degrees in Early Childhood Education, Mental Health as well as a certification in drug/alcohol rehab therapy. Later in life she stumbled onto a film set and her passion for acting/entertaining once again began to shine. Now that her children are grown she decided to start another chapter in her life and walked though the newly opened door. This open door led straight to her true passion and she realized she was meant to entertain whether it be on film, live or in front of a camera.Ruby realized her next step was to approach training and develop the skills needed to to become the best she could be in order to give 100% to those she chooses to entertain. During the filming of "Devil's Preacher" Ruby was able to reunite with the inner actress she had been hiding inside for so many years. Finally rediscovering her true calling in life Ruby had been filled with an incredible energy and undeniable love in her heart for bringing film to life through the expression of acting.Through her years of life experiences, raising children, education and working as a Social Worker in the medical/mental health field as well as the training in the acting/modeling fields Ruby feels she brings an arsenal of abilities and attributes to films/modeling.. She prides herself in her ability to adapt and adapt to many roles and can tackle roles in comedy, drama, action and horror in front of the camera and beyond.. Ruby has stepped outside of her comfort zone acting/crewing on set of horror films, However, Ruby's favorite genres are comedy, romance. history and true to life entertainment but she has always found happiness in working with people of all walks of life. Ruby enjoys learning from the best and yearns to take instructions and directions from those that can help her give a 100% to any project.Ruby's success hasn't been limited to just acting. She has also found great pleasure in writing poetry (has several published) and plays as well as a book that she is in the process of writing based on her many life experiences. Whatever her future holds in this business Ruby feels she is finally walking down the entertainment path she has longed for and a path she was meant to follow and feels a sense of inner peace and wholeness working in the industry of her true passion in life (outside of her one true soulmate, Thomas Dixon Barnes, who has encouraged her to fulfill her passion). Ruby truly believes that her hard work, dedication, commitment to excellence, and overall positive demeanor will continue to push her to new heights as she progresses in the field of entertainment.
