Iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, who was arrested for killing someone. John then discovers that Jack really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. It causes the father and son to team up against underworld forces.

John McClane turns out to be such an annoying, bullying dad that as comedian Chris Rock might phrase it, 'I'm not saying his son Jack should shoot him ... but I'd understand.'
