The events takes place after the events of Mamma Mia! (2008), Sophie finds that she is pregnant, which is precisely the end result for her mom previously. So she goes to the Greek island that her mom came to when she was pregnant on the grounds that she thought this was the place is the thing that she will encourage her how to deal with and assume liability for her kid.
