Newlywed Laurie Wade's deeply-rooted psychotic behavior shatters her marriage, and eventually her entire life. She goes from brief 'short circuits' to overtly murderous behavior. The film never tries to explain the cause of her mental collapse, except for a hint or two, but instead takes the viewer into her frightening state of mind.
