The series follows the life of Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald, the brilliant, beautiful and talented Southern Belle who becomes the original flapper and icon of the wild, flamboyant Jazz Age in the 20s. A frustratingly limp series that squanders its source material.
January 26, 2017
The drawl is super lazy, and, too often, so is the writing on this half-hour drama.

It's Zelda's story all right, but the problem with the way Z is going about portraying her life, she's more spoiled princess than jazz-era legend.
January 30, 2017
Zelda was a complicated woman, and Ricci definitely has the chops to play that. But the show never really lets her breathe into that realness.
March 28, 2017
In spite of Z's flaws, I couldn't look away from Ricci's portrayal of Zelda as a woman trapped by her own desire to make others believe that her life is exactly what she wants it to be.
January 30, 2017
The show is nearly as dull or cringe-inducing as it is engaging and insightful.
January 26, 2017
Check out Zelda for the beautiful scenes along the North Shore but don't expect an especially compelling portrait to match.
March 06, 2017
The show definitely has potential, but aside from detailed visuals and Christina Ricci's superb acting, it hasn't lived up to it yet.
