If the majority of Arrow's sixth season had to go down in order to get this episode it was all worth it. I'm kinda worried the season has peaked now, but it was pretty great.

It's taken far too long to reach this point, but Arrow's sixth season is finally coming into its own. This episode shows the benefit of a streamlined cast and a more narrow focus.

Going back to the old days of solitude and single-mindedness is a mistake, but Arrow's bigger problem is that the show isn't framing it as one.

This episode finally made the writers' quest to break up the team make some sort of sense, as it led to Oliver going back to basics and taking on Diaz alone.

Even though "Fundamentals" was a rehash of several things the show has done before (and better), I was enjoying it for most of its runtime. But then, it ended on a very frustrating note...that rejects development of the past few seasons.
