SEASON
In season two of the supernatural crime saga, core relationships deepen and become more complicated as everyone tries to put their lives back on track after one very insane day. Santánico and Richie (living outside of Houston) are now partners in crime, resembling a more modern version of Bonnie and Clyde; Seth and Kate are scraping by as small time criminals south of the border; and Freddie Gonzalez has an almost obsessive focus on protecting his wife and young daughter in the suburbs. Carlos Madrigal and Scott Fuller emerge from the Titty Twister, changed men.

This series still hasn't managed to justify its existence. It's horror isn't horrific enough and its pulp isn't pulpy enough. It's just sort of flat and joyless.

Some fresh star power (Esai Morales, Danny Trejo) can't escape the sense this show has been kept alive past its expiration date.

The final couple of episodes do finally put their foot to the accelerator, and fans of the first season will find enough to keep them invested, but the already-in-production Season Three is going to have to stop coasting if it wants us to come back.
