As long as you don't expect it to be pure drama, high brow fantasy or a necessarily accurate retelling of Arthurian legend, there's plenty to enjoy.

It's a pity John Hurt's dragon has little to do, but the addition of more knights and murkier tales makes up for the loss.

There were a few cool bits in this episode. Gaius convincing Arthur to take Merlin more seriously is a moment I did not expect but after four years I it welcomed it enthusiastically.

Morgana's to blame for the mayhem. I knew that girl was trouble; something about her flashing yellow eyes, her long black hoodie and the way she can send a knight in full armour flying just by waving an arm.

It does pleasantly expand on the universe of the series.
