Psych is one of those happy collisions of an intelligent script and an appealing cast.

The hammy younger actor [James Roday] isn't quite as cute as he thinks he is, and he belongs on a louder comedy series , a laugh-track sitcom in which his clowning might fit in more naturally.

As with Monk, the crime is largely an afterthought. Psych similarly serves up murder as a fluffy souffle, but what a tasty way to end the week.
